In every endeavor – business, relationships, or personal growth – there's a powerful force shaping your success. It's not your skills, resources, or even market conditions. It's your inner game.
Think of it: Have you ever let fear stop you? Doubted yourself when you knew better? Or just frozen when action was needed? That's your inner game dictating your outer results.
My coaching journey, especially from my days as a professional poker player, revealed this truth: your mindset isn't partof the game; it is the game.
The good news? You can master it.
------- Here are three simple, powerful shifts to conquer your inner game and unleash your true potential:
1. Acknowledge, Don't Analyze:
The Trap: Getting stuck in overthinking or self-criticism.
Your Tip: When a negative thought or fear arises, simply notice it. Don't fight it, just acknowledge its presence. Then, gently shift your focus back to what you can control: your next action.
• Why: You detach from the emotion, preventing it from paralyzing you.
2. Focus on the "Input," Not Just the "Outcome":
The Trap: Obsessing over results you can't guarantee, leading to anxiety.
Your Tip: Define the small, consistent actions you can take today. For instance, instead of "close five sales," focus on "make ten strategic calls" or "deliver one high-value presentation." • Why: This builds momentum and confidence. You gain power by controlling your effort, not just wishing for results.
3. Embrace Imperfect Action:
The Trap: Waiting for perfect clarity, perfect timing, or perfect conditions.
Your Tip: Pick one small step you've been procrastinating on. Take it, even if it feels clumsy or incomplete. "Done is better than perfect" is your new mantra.
• Why: Action creates clarity. Movement breeds progress. What are your thoughts on these strategies for conquering the inner game? Do any resonate deeply with you, or perhaps spark a new idea?
I'd love to hear your insights. Can you add one more strategy that helps you win your inner battles?
